One of the main business units of Hermann Bantleon GmbH is the development, production and sales of lubricants. At its factory in Ulm, Germany, the company started from high-quality base oils and produced general and customized lubricants according to its own formula. Customized products are often the way to meet the special requirements in cutting and non cutting production processes. They can also have a significant impact on efficiency.
Hermann Bantleon is a shareholder in the lubricating oil department of AVIA International, a German company, and sells its products globally through its own dealer network (China, India, Brazil, Bulgaria, Turkey, etc.) or through AVIA trading partners. ALLWEILER
Bantleon blends additives into various base oils based on internally developed formulas. Its quality assurance system ensures the consistent quality of customers. Therefore, the retained samples are taken from each batch and tested in Bentron's own laboratory. They are then subject to an additional approval process before being packed. After approval, the products are put into the intermediate warehouse of a 3500 square meter logistics center (completed in 2006) until they are placed on the order. With its own team,
Bantleon was able to deliver the order to the customer within five working days after receiving the order, although most orders were actually completed within about three working days. Rapid response time and flexibility are additional elements of its customer service. Several different types and sizes of pumps play an important role in Bantleon's manufacturing process.
For nearly 30 years, the company has relied on Allweiler AG of Radolfzell, Germany, to provide the required pumps. In fact, during this period, there were nearly 40 "SNH" series Screw pump Put into use in the basic oil tank farm in Bantlong. Incredibly, in these three decades, none of the pumps had a long-term failure or needed maintenance. Only the gland packing (no longer common as a gasket) needs to be changed occasionally. In Bantleon, long service life, low investment cost and availability are the main criteria for selecting pumps.
Good past experience is the main reason why the company continues to purchase new pumps from Allweiler. This is true both for the pumps needed to expand their own production and for the plants Bantleon has built for its customers. In addition to product sales, the company also provides relevant systems and complete fluid management systems. This includes systems for storing, filling, and metering lubricants.
The company's motto is "in the right place, the right amount, the right lubricant". Compliance with environmental and worker protection regulations is a natural part of doing business. In both cases, it is not enough for the pump manufacturer to only provide pumps with quality. More importantly, using standardized procedures, Bantleon can quickly and easily select the right pump for work. If the pump and configuration still need to be calculated in a specific case, the manufacturer is happy to provide it as a free service.
For this reason, the company is even willing to accept the price offered by other pump suppliers. Rainer Janz, responsible for H Bantleon GmbH said: "The pumps we obtained from Allweiler always have good quality, which provides us with very good process stability and almost no downtime." These benefits directly affect the bottom line of the company, because the standby pump is unnecessary. Finally, Bantleon values design. Allweiler pump has a very good NPSH value (less than 3 m), so long pipes and deep tanks ensure sufficient pressure loss reserves.
Dieter Schrag, workshop and production foreman, said: "For decades, Bantleon and Allweiler have established a very strong relationship between customers and suppliers. Our company started ordering Allweiler pumps as early as the 1970s and 1980s. Obviously, my colleagues made the right choice at that time. Since then, we have not found a reason to change suppliers. We have always been satisfied with pumps and support 。”
Bantleon GmbH needs different pump types according to specific pumping tasks. Sometimes volume is the key factor, sometimes the type of liquid. When moving non lubricated or poorly lubricated liquids such as antifreeze, use the side channel pump. Centrifugal pump is the ideal choice for cleaning lubricating liquid. Screw pumps and peristaltic pumps are more suitable for used oil and other contaminated liquids. Peristaltic pumps are mainly used to move waste oil in the system at the customer's site, because they can run dry, making them suitable for unsupervised operation.
Small screw pumps are ideal for accurate metering and the addition of (expensive) additives. All of these applications exist at Bantleon, either in its own production and filling plants or as part of its full range of services. Allweiler AG provides all these pump types and provides a wide range of services, so Bantleon can obtain all the pumps needed from a single source and only needs one sales and service contact.
A recent example is a new filling station. Bantleon needs two "AEB" series screw pumps to accurately measure the viscosity additive (6300 mm2/s at a liquid temperature of 65 ° C) and four "NT" series centrifugal pumps to deliver 30 m3 of base oil at a temperature of 20 ° C.
Depending on the liquid, Bantleon's pumps must be able to handle a viscosity range between 2 and 10000 mm2/sec. A total of about 80 Allweiler pumps were installed at the company's Ulm plant.
70 of them are screw pumps for lubricating liquid. About 10 pumps are used to transport flammable liquids (such as solvents) and are installed in the explosion-proof version (ATEX). Nearly 1 million liters of lubricating oil are stored in 80 oil tanks. The annual pump flow is about 15 million liters.
