3、 Start pump

Before starting the pump for the first time, it is necessary to ensure that there is sufficient media in the inlet pipeline. It is relatively simple to feed under positive pressure. Open the inlet and outlet valves, loosen the vent plug (if the pump is reserved), and wait until the media overflows. However, under the condition that the inlet pipeline of the pump has self-priming requirements, the medium shall be filled through the oil filling hole reserved near the inlet pipeline of the pump, or through the instrument hole of the inlet pipeline, or through the exhaust plug hole (if any). Before starting, manually turn the pump to check whether there is jam and abnormal noise, and at the same time, the medium can also fill the pump chamber, seal chamber and other spaces. Remember to fill the pump with medium as far as possible to avoid potential dry running risks.

Priming pump

Confirm the rotation direction before starting the pump. If the pump fails to work normally through the inlet and outlet pipeline pressure gauge or other monitoring means during startup, stop the pump immediately. Check the coupling status, or turn the gear manually. After eliminating the possibility of abnormalities in the mechanical part, start again. 4、 Troubleshooting

For some simple fault symptoms and troubleshooting, please refer to the operation manual of the product. Here we focus on some faults that are difficult to find the cause.

1. Pump inlet gasket leaks oil

There was a user who mistakenly reversed the pump when starting the machine. Although it was changed to correct steering later, it has led to the breakdown of the inlet gasket. Oil leakage will occur during subsequent startup. Especially in some IMO high-pressure pump products, a short time of reversal may lead to gasket failure. Therefore, be sure to confirm the wiring before starting up, and use inching to determine the steering direction when starting up.

2. High running noise

The noise may be caused by cavitation and other reasons, but it still exists after these common potential possibilities are eliminated, and the user may think that the pump has failed. However, the problem may be caused by the safety valve of the pump. IMO low-pressure products are all standard equipped with safety valves. When the outlet pipeline pressure reaches the set pressure of the valve, the valve will open for pressure relief. However, some users do not pay attention to the adjustment of the set value of the safety valve during startup and commissioning, or people unrelated to the operation have changed the set value of the safety valve without authorization (unintentionally rotating the safety valve setting device), which may lead to the change of the set pressure of the valve. When the opening pressure happens to be close to the system operating pressure, the valve will tend to open, in a critical state, At this time, some media will return through the safety valve, which will increase the noise. At this time, recalibrating the set pressure of the relief valve can eliminate the problem.
